The B+B Collection started in 2002 with the acquisition of an old, run down Bed & Breakfast on Ebury street, Belgravia. The Investors, led by Penny Brown, had the objective of rewriting the typical old B&B model and to offer something fresh, friendly and design led. Their new concept certainly broke the mould and the B+B brand was born in 2004 when B+B Belgravia opened. The brand was designed particularly for urban areas with a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and other attractions nearby.
The B+B Belgravia was a great success and attracted a lot of media attention. This interest was as a result of the contemporary Interior Design and the facilities offered as part of the concept. These included, and still include: Free bike rental hire; 24/7 complimentary “bean to cup” coffee, teas and biscuits; Complimentary bottled water.
Over the last twelve years the collection has grown steadily. There are five B+Bs across the UK and more in the pipeline. Each B+B has its own unique atmosphere, whilst retaining the distinctive signature of The B+B Collection. Each B+B is located in a listed building of architectural interest, which is complimented by a more contemporary styled interior.
Penny Brown is still an investor in the B+B brand and also the MD of Inn-telligence Ltd, responsible for the overall management of The B+B Collection and the operational management. During the development of the B+B brand, Inn-telligence Ltd created a unique Management Handbook which includes all the standard procedures for the operating a B+B. Full monthly reports are prepared including P+L statements, Balance Sheets, Sales and Marketing reviews, detailed Business Plans and Budgets are produced and agreed annually.
